Barbecue Sauce

2 cups water
2/3 cup catsup
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 tablespoons instant minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika


Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
