A quick hit with sweet and tangy fresh citrus and toasted sesame under the broiler, and voila! An instant side dish favorite, ready in minutes.

Serves 4 (serving size: about 3 ounces)

1 pound asparagus spears, trimmed
Cooking spray
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon fresh orange juice
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar
1 navel orange
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds


1. Preheat broiler to HIGH; arrange rack about 4 inches from heating element.

2. Arrange asparagus on a foil-lined baking sheet. Coat asparagus with cooking spray.

3. Broil asparagus 10 minutes or until tender, stirring halfway through cooking.

4. Drizzle evenly with sesame oil, orange juice, pepper, salt, and vinegar. Toss asparagus with orange segments and sesame seeds.
