Apple Fritters

2 eggs, separated
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon brandy
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 cooking apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
Butter or margarine, melted
Sifted powdered sugar


Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add milk and brandy, beating well. Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form; gently fold into flour.

Dip apple slices in batter. Fry in hot butter until golden brown and tender, turning once. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
