Almond-Coconut Filling

1 1/2 cups

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 egg yolks
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds


Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 12 minutes or until mixture thickens. Add remaining ingredients; beat until filling is thick enough to spread. Allow mixture to cool to room temperature.
