Alabama Pecan Pie

1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1 unbaked (9-inch) pastry shell
3/4 cup pecan halves


Combine sugar and flour in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, syrup, and butter; beat well. Stir in chopped pecans. Pour mixture into pastry shell. Arrange pecan halves on top of pie. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until set.
