How to Juice Citrus Fruit

Here’s a quick way to get fresh citrus juice for recipes or for drinking.

Video Transcript

To juice an orange or other citrus fruit, you can use a handheld citrus reamer, which consists of a ridged cone attached to a handle. First cut the fruit in half and hold it in your hand over a bowl.  Press the conical part of the reamer in the center of the orange half, and squeeze to extract the juice.   A reamer will not strain out pulp or seeds, so you may need to strain your juice after it’s extracted.

If you don’t have a citrus reamer, you can use a fork to do the same thing.
