Creating a wonderfully sweet caramel sauce isn't difficult if you give a little attention to the timing. Once the sugar dissolves into the water in the sauce-pan, refrain from stirring the mixture until it starts to turn brown. This means the mixture is beginning to caramelize. Once the mixture has turned golden (in about 1 to 2 minutes), immediately remove from heat. Then enjoy your caramel sauce on ice cream, cake, or just a spoon!
