Not all ground turkey is created equal. Regular ground turkey (labeled 85% lean) is a combination of white and dark meat, which is comparable to some lean cuts of ground beef. Frozen ground turkey, which is all dark meat and can contain skin, can be just as high in fat as regular ground beef. Ground turkey breast is the lowest in fat (up to 99% lean), but can dry out when grilled.
