Saving Canned Chiles

Since this recipe uses just one chile from the can, you'll end up with extra chiles in adobo sauce. If you don't plan to use the rest of the can soon, you can process the chiles in their sauce in a blender to create a paste. Store the paste in the freezer in a freezer-safe container. The next time you need chiles in adobo sauce, just scoop out some of the paste and stir it into your dish. No chopping required! One tablespoon of paste equals about one chile.
