How to Make The Bernie Paloma

Have you heard about The Bernie Paloma? Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders kicked off his presidential campaign by hosting a “house party” complete with a custom cocktail.

From an apartment in Washington D.C., Sanders rallied supporters by addressing nearly 100,000 people gathered at various house parties across the nation via satellite. After his speech, D.C. bartender Miguel Marcelino Herrera got the party started by introducing the Bernie Paloma to the D.C. crowd. The now-famous cocktail is made with Vermont maple syrup (of course), lime juice, grapefruit juice, and silver tequila.

So, grab a shaker, pour yourself a glass, and feel the “bern!”
