Is there anything I can do with brown sugar that has gotten too hard?

Whether your brown sugar is dark or light, don't throw out the sugar when it's hard—it hasn't gone bad! Simply microwave it on medium low, about 1 to 2 minutes, until it's soft. (Or, if you don't need to use the sugar right away, you can put an apple wedge in the bag and seal it overnight).
