How can I keep apples from turning brown when I cut them?

Oxmoor House

It is very simple: place cut apples in water to which you have added a squeeze of lemon juice. This acidulated water keeps apples looking fresh.

When I make a pie or crisp, or am about to toss those apple slices with cinnamon, I don’t really care if they turn a little brown—they aren’t going to show-- so I don’t bother.
