If you tend to find yourself in a rut when it comes to side dishes, take a look at this list. Stop making the same old sides for every meal! Even if you're busy during the week and don't have much time to cook an elaborate dinner, you can make these sides.

  • Spinach: spice it up with seasonings and red pepper
  • Quinoa: add in your favorite spices and even your favorite fruits
  • Corn: on the cobb, off the cobb, creamed, or grilled
  • Couscous: throw in some red onion, chopped tomatoes, and fresh dill
  • Cauliflower: try it roasted and tossed with some curry powder
  • Carrots: they're also good roasted with some parsley
  • Greek Orzo Salad: orzo cooks quickly and is great with feta, olives, and oregano
  • Green Apple Slaw: stir all the ingredients together and toss
  • Roasted Potato Wedges: broil for 12 minutes and top with chopped herbs
  • Green Beans: cook them in browned butter and sprinkle with lemon juice
