Get better flavor when you use these spice tips. When you're cooking a recipe in the slow cooker that calls for whole spices or dried spices and herbs, keep in mind that the flavors may intensify over a long cooking period, so follow the recipe exactly and don't overdo the spices.    If the recipe calls for chopped fresh herbs, stir them in near the end or when the dish is finished so that the flavors will remain vibrant.
