Recipe Bookmarks

My potted herbs are not looking so good due to the oppressive heat and humidity we've been experiencing for the past few weeks. As I watered my droopy herbs this morning, I was thinking that I needed to plant some more in the fall when it's slightly cooler.  And I remembered that I had these cool seeded paper bookmarks that I've been meaning to plant.

The bookmarks are handmade from recycled and biodegradable fibers and embedded with herb seeds.  Each bookmark  has a recipe for using that particular herb.  The two I have are cilantro and parsley, but they also have chives, basil, and dill, which are all wonderful for using in recipes.

I make handmade cards and am somewhat obsessed by cool paper anyway.  But the fact that you can recycle these bookmarks (as well as cards, journals, gift bags and placemats)  and grow things makes them even better.  If you're looking for a gift for someone who is hard to buy for, these seed paper products are great.  When the weather gets a little cooler, I'm going to plant cilantro and parsley.  But until then I'll just use them as bookmarks.
