Holiday Hostess Gift Idea

With all of the Christmas parties coming up, it's always good to have some fresh hostess gift ideas in your gift-giving arsenal.  When considering what we might present to our friend Lindsay - who always manages to make it look easy to host a hoard of people and cook a ton of food while watching out for her three precious boys - of course, the classic bottle of wine came to mind.  But then, I remembered our new Weeknight Wine series on the Quick & Easy subchannel.  In each episode, Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV reveals his favorite pairing for one of our users' favorite weeknight recipes, from King Ranch Chicken Casserole to Beef, Cheese, and Noodle Bake.  What's great about these pairings is that he always picks an unusual wine to expand your varietal horizons, and many of the selections are surprisingly budget-friendly.

"So," I thought to myself, "What could be a better present for a busy mom than the recipe for a delicious kitchen-tested recipe and a perfectly paired bottle of wine for her and her husband to enjoy with dinner?"  I plan on writing out the recipe on a cute recipe card and tying it to the bottle of wine with some festive ribbon. I'm excited that this gift is easy, clutter-free (who really wants another random trinket?), and a step beyond a simple bottle of wine.
