eCookbooks

What are personalized eCookbooks?

Personalized eCookbooks are a fun and easy way to compile your favorite recipes into an eBook available on your e-reader. Currently this feature is available for Nook and iPad (for iPad you must have the iBooks app installed). It's not yet available for Kindle (see tips to getting this on your Kindle here).

Create eCookbooks using MyRecipes recipes or your own personal recipes that you've uploaded to the site. Make one for yourself to remember your family favorites, kid-friendly ideas, holiday recipes, entertaining menus, etc., or make them as gifts for family and friends for special occasions like weddings and showers.

Personalized eCookbooks are $1.99 for the first 20 recipes and $.99 for every additional 10 recipes.

Do I have to be a registered user to create a personalized eCookbook?

Yes, in order to create a personalized eCookbook you need to be a member of the MyRecipes community. Sign in if you already have an account, or join now for FREE. It's quick and easy to sign up for an account, plus you can enjoy all the benefits of becoming a member such as saving your favorite recipes and grocery deals, creating shopping lists, menus and more. Get free alerts when recipes are added to your favorite categories like "Quick and Easy," "Slow Cooker," "Grilling," and "Gluten-Free."

How do I share my eCookbook?

Once you get the link to download and access your eCookbook you will be able to share it with friends and family. You will need to sign in and click a link that says "Access your eCookbook." From this page there are two ways you can share your eCookbook.
  1. You will see a link and instructions on sending. Just copy this link and send it on (copy the link from this page, not from the email).
  2. If you download the eCookbook you can save it to your desktop (it will save as an EPUB file). You can send this file on as an attachment.

How do I add recipes to my eCookbook?

On MyRecipes recipe pages you will see a tools menu next to the ingredients of the recipe. For recipes that can be added to an eCookbook you will see a link titled "Add to my eCookbook."

Not all recipes from MyRecipes can be added to eCookbooks at this time, so you may not see this link on all recipes pages, but you will see it on most. If you have uploaded any personal recipes you will be able to add your own personal recipes in the same way. You may also upload other user's personal recipes.

Does my eCookbook work on a Kindle?

Currently we do not support Kindle, however, for advanced users there are ways to access eCookbooks on your Kindle device (either by converting the file or using a process called sideloading).
