Purely Elizabeth, you have my heart
How many times have you been dizzy in the granola aisle? You’re comparing prices and ingredients, trying to find one that isn’t $14, or packing 30 grams of sugar per quarter cup. You’re feeling self-conscious and confused, and then granola-related dizziness sets in. I know, because I've been there. Luckily, I found my solution: Purely Elizabeth granola.
Sure, when I have the time, I’ll make my own granola. But sometimes I just don’t have the energy. Before I discovered Purely Elizabeth, I would opt for whichever granola I could find (usually the cheapest), but nothing was really good enough. Now, Purely Elizabeth granola is the only brand I buy.
It’s probably important to say that, like all stories on Extra Crispy where we profess our undying love for a product, this post is not sponsored (I almost wish it were—I’m dying to be rolling in granola).
I had no idea what I was getting into the first time I dug into a bag of Purely Elizabeth Original granola a couple years ago. But after the first bite, I knew I was ruined for all other packaged granolas. Before Purely Elizabeth, I thought store-bought granola was either cloying or completely devoid of sugar—not the case with this. As it’s sweetened with coconut sugar, Purely Elizabeth’s sweetness is much more mellow than a granola made with corn syrup, brown sugar, or honey. It has just the right balance of salty and sweet, with a crunch that doesn’t break your teeth.
Now, I keep a bag of Purely Elizabeth in my kitchen at all times, and another at my desk in the office. It’s obviously my go-to when I’m looking for some crunch in my yogurt or chia pudding, but I think it’s even better in between meals. I eat it by the handful when midday snack-attacks strike, and sometimes after 9 p.m. when I’m looking for just one more hit of something sweet. It also happens to be vegan and gluten-free, so it’s excellent to have on hand for guests with dietary restrictions.
I’ve tried a lot of Purely Elizabeth granolas, and I remain convinced that Original is still the best flavor: It’s packing oats, sunflower seeds, puffed amaranth, millet flakes, quinoa flakes, and chia seeds, and that’s really all I need in a granola. However, if you’re looking for more, Purely Elizabeth has a wide range of flavors and types of granola. Looking to bump up your gut health but aren’t into popping probiotic pills? Purely Elizabeth has a couple flavors of granola with a vegan strain of probiotics. Doing the whole no grain-thing? Allow me to present the brand’s two grain-free blends, with nuts and coconut flakes.
I would say don’t take my word for it when I deem Purely Elizabeth the World’s Best Packaged Granola. But guys, I’m a breakfast journalist, I think I know what I’m talking about.
