It could be you
Doughnuts are delicious, so one couldn’t be faulted for claiming to eat them like it’s their job. Well, thanks to a new contest, it can be. At least on a temporary, honorific basis.
In honor of National Doughnut Day on June 1, Entenmann’s is on the hunt for a Chief Doughnut Officer. Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated passion and an ability to innovate in the holed pastry space. Rather than filing a paper resume encrusted with donut crumbs, candidates have to answer a few online questions detailing their love of Entenmann’s, their plans for product innovation, and how they plan to handle the role as ambassador of all things donut goodness. The application process is open now and will run through the end of June.
After Entenmann’s screens these resumes, five finalists will film video interviews pleading their case to members of the board (in this case, literally anyone who feels like voting), with a winner to be announced on August 7th. The compensation package for whoever ends up as Entenmann’s newest C-level executive looks pretty sweet: The grand prize winner gets $5000, branded merch, and a year’s supply of doughnuts. Four runners-up get that yearlong donut hookup and $1000 in cash each.
"Since its start 120 years ago, Entenmann’s has remained committed to celebrating its incredibly loyal fans and providing them with the quality baked goods that they’ve grown to know and love,” says Jason Amar, Director of Marketing at Entenmann’s.” Timed to our favorite holiday of the year—National Doughnut Day—we want to honor our biggest fans by officially welcoming one to our Entenmann’s family.”
These sort of faux-CEO contests have become something of a trend at food companies these days, but the chance to win $5000 because you love doughnuts is nothing to scoff at. May the best fan win.
