Makes 5-6 dozen

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 sticks butter (1 pound total)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Soften butter in microwave for 30 seconds or so. In a large bowl mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and white sugar.   Mix well.   In a medium bowl mix softened butter with brown sugar until well combined.  Add butter/brown sugar mixture to the dry mix in the large bowl.  Add water, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and vanilla.  Stir until well combined.  Roll into 1.5 inch balls on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly.  Bake at 375 degrees for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are slightly brown, but centers of cookies are still soft.
